Sunday after the Blizzard

So, today when we got up the sun was shining, but the snow was of course still here which meant for an interesting trip to Church.  The main roads were cleaned of the snow but all the side streets were packed with snow.  We have two young single adult girls that we pick-up each Sunday for Church, so they were especially happy to get a ride this morning, since the Trams were not up and running their normal schedules yet.  We found out today that was the most snow in a single storm Croatia has gotten since 1955!!

This would be us if hadn't move into our lovely new apartment with a sweet garage.

Yes, you got it today is even colder than a few days ago. We are not going to get above 30 degrees all week! Wow, this is going to be interesting for us Arizona sun lovers.
When we got to the Church today the parking lot had not been plowed, so the Elders got the job of shoveling the snow to clear spots for the few members that braved the roads to come to Church.  We ended up with only 4 cars in the parking lot, we usually only have about 8, most members ride the tram.
Then all of the sudden the clearing of the snow became the throwing of the snow, they were having fun and we had fun watching them.  We really love our missionaries.  They are true valiant young men who sacrifice so much to serve the Lord for 2 years of their lives.  They are my heroes!!

Here I am with the two cute girls we pick-up each Sunday, I love them!

  1. A couple of years ago in Germany we got snowed in 2 extra days and they shut the airports and trains down across Europe...I REALLY hope Candace and Jason don't have to deal with what we did! Good thing you guys have a car and garage - can't imagine having to deal with so much snow.

(Candace and Jason came over tonight for dinner. It was really nice and fun to see them! Esp her pregnant belly :) )

Love you and hope you know how much we support you and am so happy you can share your love and love of the Gospel with those who really need it.
