I thought I would share with you a funny story that happened to Richard a week ago that I had forgotten. We went down to Osijek for a baptism, but before the baptism we picked up the Sister missionaries so we could all go and visit our one seminary student in this city. This sweet girl has some kind of bone cancer and is in a wheel chair, she lives with her Grandma, (who by the way just got baptised). The living conditions for most of the people we meet here are so below the living standards in the U.S. it is heart breaking and this girl and her Grandma fit into this category, so it was an overwhelming experience to see them living in such conditions in such a stressful situation with her being so sick. She is very beautiful and is a very good artist, but the best part for us is that she speaks English, so we had a nice visit with her. After we visited with her we were all going to get into our car and go to the baptism, which was at the Church. So, Richard went out to drive the car up to her sidewalk so that we could lift her into the car, (our car is suppose to be an automatic, but it still acts like a standard with a stick gear shift only without a clutch). Mean while in the house we are trying to figure out how to get the wheelchair down 5 stairs when Sister Black goes and picks up the girl and starts to carry her out the door. Well, Richard sees her carrying her and jumps out of the car to open the back door for her only the car is not in park and so the car starts driving away with the driver's door open! You can imagine how funny this all looked Richard is in a panic to stop the car and the Sister missionary is holding this 16 year old girl in her arms and our car is driving away without anyone in it. But Richard ran and jumped in and stopped it and backed up so we could all get in. We laughed all the way to the Church.
