Zadar is Beautiful!

We are back from Zadar!  It was so much work putting this conference together, it really was a miracle because there are so few members here in our mission and we had over 300 people come from Bosnia, Slovenia, Croatia and Serbia!  The big event of the conference was that we had Five Baptisms in the Adriatic Sea at 8:00am on Saturday.  It was really a beautiful event bringing these groups together to create unity, because since the war there continues to be contention between Croatia and Serbia, but the members here need to be unified and love each other as brothers and sisters of a loving Heavenly Father and living in harmony as they apply the gospel of Jesus Christ into their lives and hearts.
We were able to meet all the members from our mission and all the senior missionary couples too.  We all rode a ferry over to the island where the conference was held at this restored Roman Fort on the island. It was very interesting to try their foods and trying to communicate with people from four different countries, but we did our best.  The people here really are a beautiful people with strong traditions, who love to eat and eat!  I have never eaten so much bread in my life!  And the young people wanted me to try everything it really was fun and we really enjoyed feeling like we could be a part of the great work going on over here in this war torn area of Europe.
Thank you all for you love and support and prayers, it really is a lot of work being senior missionaries, we are exhausted!
From Carrie with love to all of you that I love and miss!
Here we are cooking the 800 Kabob
Here is some of the food I don't know what any of it is called, but it was Good!
Beautiful Zadar

  2. Of course you have on your apron and your tie tucked in! How else would you each be? Serving is your life. You look great to me, and I can imagine a great visit with those helping to prep the food and bonding with them. The conference sounds like it went well. We think of you every day and ask for the Lord's Blessings to be upon you both to keep you full of energy and strength and for the work to be joyful and satisfying.
