Slovenia
On our way to Vienna Austria we stopped in Slovenia and spent one night in a cute little village called Mocna these are the views from our room. It was beautiful! Our room was new and had a wonderful shower too. There was a family restaurant connected with the hotel which had been in the family for 500 years, we were so happy we went there. It was the best food we have had since we arrived here. We had every speciality they had and they were all wonderful. And their house dessert was like nothing we had ever seen before and it was great!
The only problem with our stay was NO air conditioning even though the website said they had air.
The owner told us the walls were cool and would cool our room. The walls never got cool.
One thing about Europe they have great breakfast here. Bread, cheese, meats, fruit, eggs, juice, and always some kind of cereals and sweets.
Austria
On our way to Vienna the next day we stopped at this charming little Village in Austria to take a walk and we were so glad we did, we felt like we were in a make believe world. It was so clean and the streets were all cobblestones, we fell in love with this little place.
Vienna
Saint Stephans Cathedral
Schlofs Hunting Lodge/Castle/Summer Home
These are the gardens and they include a Zoo
Some kind of Summer Home!
We went on a tour and it was just beautiful inside.
Another Beautiful Church in the City Center
OK, so I know this is a weird picture, but look at this guy on the left he is floating in the air! We walked all the way around him and saw nothing under him. Crazy and Cool!
Why were we were in Vienna?
Just so you know we went to Vienna, which is only about 41/2 hours away from our mission on our Mission President's request, he wants us to start a Center for Young Single Adults here in Zagreb and he wanted us to go to Vienna and see how a functioning center works. A Center for Young Single Adults functions like a Institute does, but in our case we don't have any institute students because there is not a program here in Croatia yet. So, our goal is to go and find all the inactive young single adults in Zagreb and ask them to try our new Center out and attend institute, which we will teach. We hope to have one class a week and start a class for the young married couples once a month on eternal marriages and families. We hope to serve dinner once a week for all the young people and hope that will encourage them to come also. We really feel that for the program to be successful we need them to just come and once they do they will enjoy each other so much they will continue to come. We hope they will feel the Spirit and at some point bring their nonmember friends too.
We know that this program can and will bless many people's lives and we feel it a privilege to be a part of something that will strengthen individuals and marriages and families in Croatia.
We hope to have our Center's open house the first part of September, so pray that we can get it up and running by then and people will come!I hope you all are well and happy. We miss you all.
